In July 2015, Tigger arrived at the Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana as a Platinum Guest. (Platinum is really the ONLY way to go, very much worth it!)
This video tour was taken the first moments Tigger arrived in the room and before any luggage was unpacked. It is an immaculate room with plenty of space. This particular video is of unit # 816 which is very close to the Platinum lounge. This allowed the laptop and ipad 2 to connect to the quality wi-fi there while sitting inside at the table. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 could not connect but this was rectified by sitting on the veranda.
Wi-fi here is not super fast anywhere... probably not as fast as home networks but is it plenty of bandwidth to check email and Facebook and even post pictures.
HERE IS THE BIG NOTE ABOUT WI-FI. In the lobby where the general masses get on-line, the wi-fi was very challenging. Any connection worth email is found early in the morning when few people are there. In the busy evenings... forget about it.
This is why the Platinum lounge is so nice. Wi-fi there is available ALL day and in the week Tigger was there never had any trouble getting on-line.
There is a service that provides a modem that can be used in more areas. I think it was $5 a day with a $50 deposit but Tigger neither used it nor inquired about it so official word can be found elsewhere.
